Scams Targeting Concerned Grandparents

Scams Targeting Concerned Grandparents

Unfortunately for every single good person out there, thousands of horrible people lie in wait to take advantage of someone. A popular scam that is going around lately targets the grandparents of people who spend a lot of time on social media sites. These scammers will use the information of the people they find on Social media sites to pretend to be that person.

Once the scammer has gathered enough information, they will contact the grandparent and tell him or her that they were arrested and need bail money. They will ask that the grandparent not mention this problem to anyone else in the family, for fear of being embarrassed. If the grandparents give the caller money, the scammer will disappear with money, never to be seen again.

New California Marijuana Laws for 2018

New California Marijuana Laws for 2018

It’s a brand new year, and that means new laws for Californians. One of the big ones this year, is the ability for marijuana dispensaries to legal sell their product to anyone who is over the age of 21. This is something that some Californians are very excited about, however, they need to realize that there are still restrictions on how and where marijuana can be used.

Starting January 1st, licensed marijuana dispensaries will be able to sell their products to of age, legal adults. Anyone under the age of 21 is not legally permitted to buy or use marijuana in any form. If a minor is caught using then they will be required to take a drug education course and perform community service. Any dispensary caught selling product to a minor will risk losing their license and paying a hefty fine...

California: The Sanctuary State

California: The Sanctuary State

For those unaware, the start of the new year also marked the start of California being a sanctuary state. The controversial decision to become a sanctuary state was decided on by California politicians at the end of 2017. At the beginning of October, Governor Jerry Brown signed it into law, and the law would take effect on January 1st, 2018.

By becoming a sanctuary state, California has announced itself a safe place for undocumented and illegal immigrants. The new law effectively limits what state and local law enforcement agents can do to assist federal immigration authorities. The law bans enforcement agents, at both the local and state level, from enforcing immigration holds on arrested individuals.

This new law is in direct defiance of President Trump’s calls to focus on deporting mil...

Drive High, Get a DUI

Drive High, Get a DUI

2018 is bringing a lot of new changes to California laws. One of the biggest is that licensed dispensaries will be able to sell marijuana to anyone who is over the age of 21. This new law will make it easier for individuals to get ahold of marijuana, which will likely lead to more people using this. Unfortunately, this can include drivers.

A person should never get behind the wheel of a vehicle when they are under the influence of any kind of substance. Doing so can negatively affect their ability to safely drive a vehicle, and lead to an accident. This is why the California Highway Patrol (CHP) has started a new campaign: Drive high, get a DUI.

This new campaign is to remind everyone that it is illegal to drive while under the influence of drugs or alcohol...

What Legalizing the Sale of Marijuana Means

What Legalizing the Sale of Marijuana Means

This new year brought Californians the ability to sell marijuana. This also allows folks the opportunity to purchase marijuana for recreational use. You may be under the impression that this means you can smoke whenever and wherever you want. However that’s not the case.

It’s important to remember that though it is legal in California to smoke recreationally, and medically, it is still not legal nationally. That means you can still get into trouble federally and that on government property, marijuana is still very illegal.

Another area where Californians have to be cautious is when it comes to driving. Along with the legalization of sales of marijuana, another bill passed making driving while high illegal...
